How are the random Bible verses selected?
Each click selects a passage from our curated KJV collection. The selection varies across topics and avoids recently shown passages when possible. Some results include several connected verses so the thought can be read together. For a longer reading, try the random Bible chapter generator.
Is this a daily Bible verse?
You can visit each day for a moment of Scripture, but this tool does not assign one fixed verse to a calendar date. Select the button whenever you want a new passage, including more than once a day.
Which Bible translation is used?
All generated passages and chapter readings currently use the King James Version (KJV). Other translations are not currently available.
Is the generator free, and do I need an account?
The random verse generator, chapter reader, and wallpaper maker are free to use. You can read, copy, save, and create wallpapers without signing up.
Where can I find my saved Bible verses?
Choose Saved in the navigation to revisit passages you have saved. They are stored in this browser on this device and do not sync across devices. Clearing the site’s browser data also removes saved verses.
How can I share a verse or use it as wallpaper?
Use Copy to copy the passage and reference as text. Choose Create wallpaper below a verse to open it in the editor, customize the design and size, and download an image. You can also start directly in the Bible verse wallpaper maker.
